A birthday snack box fills easily from a dry fruit shelf: a scoop of roasted makhana, a small handful of trail mix, a few dried berries, and for the grown-ups, some whole or spiced cashews. It keeps for days, survives the trip home in a party bag, and makes a return gift parents are glad to see instead of another packet of sweets.
Pick packs from the shelf above and fill the boxes at home, or message us on WhatsApp and we will make up custom packs for your guest list.
Birthday party snack box ideas
A good box has something crunchy, something sweet and something filling. For most parties that means three or four of these:
- Makhana. Makhana (Fox Nut) roasted at home with a little ghee and salt is light, crunchy and liked by almost every child. It takes up a lot of room for very little weight, so a box looks generous.
- Trail mix. Trial Mix with 12 Nuts & Dry Fruits puts nuts and dried fruit in one scoop. Trial Mix Fruit is the one to pick if your crowd likes it sweeter.
- Dried berries. Cranberry, blueberry and strawberry add colour and a chewy, sweet bite that children tend to eat first.
- Seeds. A spoon of pumpkin or sunflower seeds adds crunch, and helps when you are making boxes without nuts.
We do not sell sweets or chocolates. If you want a toffee in every box, add it in its own wrapper so it does not melt onto the rest.
Snack boxes for grown-ups’ birthdays
An adult birthday, an office celebration or a parent’s sixtieth calls for something more grown-up. Whole cashews carry a box on their own, and Super Cashew is the large, even grade that looks right in a gift. Add a spiced nut such as Kaju Peri Peri or Masala Cashew, a few roasted almonds or pista, two or three good dates, and a small twist of mukhwas to finish.
For a box meant as a proper present, see our dry fruit gift box page.
How much to pack per guest
A return gift does not need to be large, as most of it is eaten at home the next day.
- Small children: a box that fits in their two hands, holding a couple of small handfuls in all, mostly makhana with a little dried fruit.
- Older children: a scoop of makhana, a small handful of trail mix and a few berries.
- Adults: a generous handful or two of nuts and dried fruit.
Makhana weighs almost nothing, so count it by the scoop rather than by the gram. Count guests by family, then add a few extra boxes for siblings who come along. Our page on healthy snacks has more on sensible portions.
A note on nut allergies
Nut allergies in children can be serious, so ask the parents before the party. A line on the invitation or a message in the class group is enough. Label every box that contains nuts.
For a child who cannot have nuts, makhana, seeds and dried berries are the usual alternatives. Makhana is the seed of a water plant, not a tree nut. But seeds can cause allergies too, and our packs are made up at a counter where nuts are handled, so we cannot call any of them nut-free. For a child with a serious allergy, let the parents decide what is safe.
Whole nuts are also a choking risk for children under five, so leave them out of the youngest children’s boxes or crush them first. If the boxes are going to school, check the school’s rule on nuts.
Order a week ahead
Delivery takes a few days depending on your city, and filling thirty boxes takes longer than you expect, so order about a week before the party. Orders start at ₹1,500, every order ships free, and payment is online.
Roast the makhana the day before and let it cool completely before packing, or it steams itself soft. Keep filled boxes somewhere cool and dry, not in the fridge. Everything else we keep is on the dry fruits shelf.
Custom packs on WhatsApp
If you would rather not fill the boxes yourself, message us on WhatsApp. Tell us how many guests, whether they are children or adults, anything to leave out for allergies, and the date and city, and we will suggest a mix and make up the packs.
